Expression Australia Deaf Festival 2025: A Day to celebrate the Deaf community
On Saturday, 25 October, the grounds of Deaf Children Australia came alive as Expression Australia hosted its annual Deaf Festival in Victoria.
The even brought together families, friends, and Auslan users from across the country for a day of community, culture, and celebration. The team from Auslan Education Services (AES) and Auslan Time with Geo hosted a busy stall filled with fun, and plenty of visitors. Naomie and Thomas ran AES’s popular Fingerspelling Competition, where participants of all ages put their skills to the test for a chance to win great prizes.
A highlight of the day was Geo’s Meet & Greet at 11.15am – the crowd turnout was fantastic!

The Deaf festival is always a wonderful reminder of the strength, pride, and connection with our community. A big thank-you to Expression Australia for another amazing event, and to everyone who came to meet Geo and the AES team. We had a fantastic day, and can’t wait for next year’s festival!
